marketers block, maui, the new crib, and manifestation

I haven’t posted new content to this blog in a while because I’ve been running around the last couple weeks. First went to Maui for a week for a MUCH NEEDED break. Then I moved into a pimp new house on the beach. Every marketer and business owner needs to take a break to get away and just not think about shit before they get busy again. It’s kind of like producers block and writers block. Sometimes you’re just don’t feel like doing anything so that’s when you should not think about a damn thing related to what you do everyday and just get away. When I used to make music all the time, I would have days where I would not have inspiration or creativity at all in making the music. No ideas, nothing. So I would just not even look at any of my music equipment for days or even weeks until I got the “urge” to make music again.

In the internet marketing world I called this “Marketers block” or “Affiliate block”. Where you just have done so much work you get “burnt” and you can’t continue to do anything else and just sit on Twitter and Facebook all day. (both of which are a complete waste of time). Or you just sit around refreshing Gmail and your aff stats all day. When this happens, you either have to just step away for a couple hours. If it gets to the point where you are doing day after day after day, JUST LEAVE. Don’t think about it for a while, a couple days, weeks, whatever.

This basically gives your brain some time to relax and realize what you really want to do. So when you DO get back into work mode you can be twice as effective in what you do.

So when this happened to me recently I just left and went to Maui for 6 days. Just to get away and be in a different environment. Away from everything. Sure I checked emails every now and then, but that’s okay. “Marketer’s” block doesn’t usually happen to me a lot because I absolutely love what I do, but when it does, it hits me hard.

Check out some pics from Maui:

While in Maui, I decided to rent a new place and get a complete change of scenery for when I get back to Cali. I signed the papers from the resort and faxed them back to the real estate agent. I came home and the next day I started packing and moved out.

Anyway, a couple people hit me up on FB and Twitter asking me about my new house. This place is bad (”not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good”) and I figured this was the only time I would be able to live in a ridiculous place like this. My front yard is the beach! The place is 4 bedrooms, super contemporary modern, glass everywhere (even the steps), a retractable roof, and just pure gangstaness.

Who said affiliate/cpa marketing is dead? :)

That’s not the only thing we do at the company, but it’s a huge piece.

Anyway, here are some pics of the new house that I took from my iPhone. They aren’t the best pics in the world, but decent. Check it -

Speaking of this new house, here is another thing that caught me off guard. I always write stuff down in my notepads. Everything related to my business and my personal development is written down in this notebook. I have 10 of these things full of ideas, biz stuff, thoughts, doodles, and other cool stuff. Check out this list I made about 5 months ago (I blurred some stuff out because those ideas are top secret.) :)

the manifesting list

Now look at the first thing I wrote on that list. It actually came true. Just goes to show that visioning and writing down what you want in life works. I actually accomplished a lot on that list and just a couple more things to go!

aaaaaaaaaannnnnddddd i’m out. time to make more of my stuff reality.

Just got wind of this post on Twitter. Your new pad looks killer and recharging in Maui sounds like it did you some good. Did you manage to stay off the cigs? ;-)

Your list rocks and shows where you heart is at man. Congrats on your continued success Amish. I think I’ll go start my list right now.

Cheers.

Cool of you for sharing. Awesome pad. Congrats on your success. Posts like these actually help someone like me to get inspired and take action. So true about “list building”, I read that when you write a goal/dream down; it’s 90% sure of coming true. Mean as well write something worthy and utilize that 90% to our advantage to help get us to our goals/dreams.

Best -
Cho

Actually things like “Affiliate Block” also happen in sports. Glad you through it!

About visioning and writing down stuff – is from “the secret”?

Right now I have something reverse to “Affiliate Block”. I’m testing and creating campaigns like mad. Great views.

Amish, I remember hearing you speak at last years PPC Classroom event in Cali (Amit and Anik). Thinking to myself, “damn, the guy is good-looking, young as hell, makes a ton of money, and has a hot girlfriend to boot…”. Wasn’t jealous, just thinking “I got to get there myself too!” I actually came up to you and said something to you about you being young & rich (don’t know if you remember).

Anyway, you’re an inspiration, and I LOVE YOUR MASERATI!!! This is actually my dream car I have on my “dream board” and “dream video”. In 6 months is will be MINE!!!

KEEP IT UP!!!

That house totally rocks man. I can only envy you at the moment :P … but seriously this post is an inspiration for lots like us who need to work harder, and may be need to refresh and restart our affiliate marketing journey with an increased vigour.
That reminds me, are we going to get the DVDs for seminar? When? (I attended the seminar). Want to revisit the entire damn thing again before I formulate my strategy to go deeper into it.

Samuel reply on November 18th, 2009 5:53 am:

Are the DVDs for sale? I would love to buy them.

Amish reply on November 25th, 2009 9:26 am:

Sorry – not for sale. I don’t think we are going to sell them actually!

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. I was personally on this break the last three days. I didn’t even want to look at my computer in that time frame. Thanks Amish

Nice place Amish… my intern is from Hawaii and talking about it all the time. She said the Sushi is super cheap there. That’s enough for me to go w/o having marketers/affiliate tools coding block.

Get back to work bro…
