In one my previous posts “Why You’re Not Succeeding“, I wrote about how people are actually SCARED to make money and they don’t know WHY they want to make MORE money.

It’s because, people have this notion in their head that they need money. But they have no idea why they want more money. What are you going to do with it? What do you want more money for? What’s the point?

If you think about it, money is nothing and it doesn’t really exist.. It’s a piece of paper and a number when you login to your bank account.

Right?

What’s that about?!

So that’s why you need to have the mentality that it’s not just about making money.

It’s about WHAT you are going to DO with the MONEY and it’s about creating WEALTH by doing so.

Going through some of my comments I noticed that a lot of you have asked where I buy traffic from. Outside of the regular Google/Yahoo/MSN, here is my list of traffic sources along with some coupon codes and stuff for you too!

It’s time to diversify you’re traffic. Google is no longer the king of traffic and not to mention all the BS quality score and slapping affiliate accounts shit they do. Not that it should matter anyway, Google only accounts for 20% of all traffic on the internet!

So here is my list of traffic sources. We do a ton of media buys as well, and I posted a previous post on Media Buys previously.

CPV (aka PPV) Networks
Below is a list of some of my favorite CPV networks. Yeah there are a couple more, but not worth mentioning since they never converted for me. I’ve heard the same from a TON of people saying that other companies like Clicksor, etc. don’t convert well.

Direct CPV
Coupon Code: TK25
The new kids on the block. They have a pretty strong network and growing daily. They seem to be targeting affiliate marketers as their main advertisers so this may be a good buy for a lot of you. If you go through my link and use the coupon code above they will give you $25 in free traffic. We have only tested a couple campaigns so far and it seems pretty decent. I’ll let you know once we get more results.

Traffic Vance
Traffic Vance has been around for a while now (I’ve been using them since 2007) and has the best converting traffic I have seen as far as CPV networks go. It is definitely getting more competitive in the CPV area, especially on Traffic Vance, but still plenty of room for everyone to play. Another thing about Traffic Vance is that not a lot of people are using the In Text Link traffic. It’s HUGE. Make sure you get a good rep cuz mine isn’t that good.

MediaTraffic
Media Traffic is decent. I’ve been using them for about 2 years on and off. Their traffic is pretty much hit or miss. But if you use their Run of Network traffic, and just find an offer that converts on certain targets, that’s the best way to play with them.

AdOnNetwork
I’ll be completely honest about AdOnNetwork. I barely use them, but I hear they are pretty decent. Anyone who has used them can chime in the comments and say wussup.

Third Party Engines
You would be surprised how much traffic 3rd party engines can bring you. Below is a list of my fav’s and one’s I’ve been using for a very long time.

7Search
Coupon Code: DIGIPROMO
7 Search has been around for a LONG time. I remember buying traffic from them back in 2004 for so many markets. Especially back in the arbitrage days. Regardless, they have good traffic for certain markets and you not much competition in a LOT of markets. Use my link above and use the coupon code and get a 20% match on your initial deposit up to $200 bucks.

Findology
I’ve worked with Findology back in the day along with 7Search. I used to ONLY use third party search engines when I first started marketing online. I can definitely say they have some good traffic and it converts REALLY good on some markets but not so great on other markets.

AdBrite

These guys are pretty good, but damn they have weird traffic. That’s because it comes from SUPER long tail websites. BUT here’s the best part. It’s cheap. So you can find like 1,000 sites that make you a couple bucks a day and you’re good to go. Hope you got some GOOD tracking because you’ll need it with this one. AdBrite also has banners you can promote with, which a lot of other networks don’t.

Miva
Miva is another 3rd party engine I’ve been using for years. These guys have been around for a while and have decent traffic. Haven’t done anything with them recently, but plan on it soon. Get $25 matched when you deposit $25!

Marchex
Marchex has been around forever. They used to be called something else and I can’t remember for the life of me what it used to be called. I’ve ran traffic with them for over 5 years now and nothing but good stuff. They have good placements in niche markets that can be dominated. Try to get a rep here if you can too, they have a SOLID team that will upload your campaigns AND optimize them for you. Can’t really beat that!

Self Serve Media Buys
We’ve been getting into Self Serve media buys for a while now. It’s usually hit or miss depending on the market you are going after. I’ve only experimented with two different networks with minimal results.

BidPlace SB
BidPlace SB is decent. It’s an easy to use platform, but their review process takes forever. I’ve made SOME money with them, but haven’t played with them in about 6 months. Check it out if you can. It’s extremely easy and their reach is pretty damn good too!

AdReady
This platform is pretty cool. You can create your own banners within their interface (kinda like MySpace Advertising’s but better) and you can select which sites you want your ad to show on from their network of sites. Slick.

I know I’m missing some networks here, but these are the one’s that came to my mind at first.

I’ve also been HEAVY on Facebook Advertising.  I’m not even using them for affiliate marketing.  But I am using them to build brand websites and authority sites.  I’m blowing a ton of money and not making a dime yet, but I am capturing VERY qualified people and have major plans to monetize all these peeps. Stay tuned for that post (probably won’t be for a couple months! )

Something, that a lot of my readers probably don’t know about me, is  that I USED to make music ALL the time. I still do, but just not as much cuz I’m crazy busy with my other businesses.

Anyway, I’ve made all kinds of music before – hip hop, rap, r&b, house, electro, ambient, just to name a few.  I got some 400 beats in the vault…insane! But mostly hip hop and rap beats.

I started this back in 1997 just as a hobby and it just vibed with me so I stuck with it and met some interesting people along the way. My mom and dad both have a passion for music and always used to play Indian instruments and sing in the house.

Back in the day, I remember recording tracks through my sound blaster pro with a microphone and some beats I used to make in ModPlug and Fruity Loops.

And then eventually to Reason, Cubase & Logic. That was the birth of my first company, DigiSpace Records, my record label.

Along the way, I’ve upgraded my equipment too – Tascam FW 1884, Presonus PreAmp, Baby Blue Microphone, Alesis Monitors, and a Roland Fantom X6.  Just recently got a AKAI beat machine too, so been playing with that a lot!

My original record labels website is actually still up and located @ DigiSpace Records. Probably doesn’t work the way it used to, but it used to be ALL working back in the day.  It was SICK. We dropped an album in 2005 and put it up on iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere we could. I used all types of internet marketing tactics to get rankings – post on others blog comments, forum posts, and email marketing with the 3K list I had from this site.  I hired people from Craigslist to be “free interns” who would work for a record label and fill out a spreadsheet on which forums they joined, what they posted, and then told them to post about our album in their posts. LOL.  It was great back in the day just thinking of random ways to promote the album.  I did a ton of other things as well, some of it worked and some of it didn’t.  This was back in the beginning of my internet marketing days.

The album was produced by me, with beats by some of my producer crew back then, and the first hip hop “artist” I ever worked with was Danse Daimons from Brooklyn. The problem with our first album, “Take it How You Want It”, was the guy who mastered the album ended up screwing it up before it went into production and it sounded like shit when it came out on CD (not horrible, but not clean).  Anyway, Danse Daimons new website is BklynStickup.com.  Keep in mind kids, the content at BklynStickup.com is explicit. So be CAREFUL. haha! I met him out in Long Island one day at Adelphi University. Since then we’ve become good friends and don’t really work on music much anymore, but we still share mad ideas and shit with each other.  I always try to help out old friends become successful with their businesses and I realize he’s been doing this for more than 10 years now.  He’s hungry and has moved up a LOT in the industry and is literally about to BLOW UP.  (watch for him!) Danse Daimons is hands down the BEST rapper out right now in my opinion.

Recently Danse (Kevin) and I were talking and I was telling him how the whole world is changing and the music industry seems to be following this model, but going too slow. Local businesses are starting to see success, small communities and groups are starting to form around them, and even on the internet – new communities are formed around great music.  It’s about building that brand and having that following online.  The music industry is just fake, you hear the same top 100 songs all day long on the radio and that’s it.  Almost every where else in the WORLD, the top 10 changes every two weeks.

So as we were talking, I mentioned to him that he has to build a following online. He has to build a REAL business with what he’s got.  Register a real LLC, get an assistant to book shows and meetings (perception is reality), and make sure all his shows and expenses are put on the books.  They got a pretty good t-shirt line going for them and they can throw all this on the books now.

Like I said before – it’s not about being “hood” and being “ghetto” anymore.  It’s about these record labels seeing that you can carry your own weight, have a rabid following and can be successful even without the music labels.  They  go around looking for the best “MySpace Rapper” or “YouTube Rapper”.   When they do find someone, they exploit that person and turn them into “ringtone rappers”.

So I told Kevin to take a different approach.  I told him he has to build a huge following first and go independent. Make the labels want YOU.  If his marketing on BklynStickup.com was better he could destroy the industry. The music is solid, the lyrics are gold, and the movement is huge. It’s something that not a lot of these guys are doing.  Anyone can have a label, have good music, and get heard.  But to build a real business and a following, you have to do it the right way.

So here it goes – Danse, Busy, Chicago, and the whole BklynStickup squad. I see you. TAKE THIS AND IMPLEMENT IT!

Everyone else – the review and tactics I reveal below can be used for anyone’s website/blog or industry.  What I am trying to do here is combine some direct response marketing with new and fresh rap music.  Interesting & Different approach, but I guarantee it will work.

ON THE HOME PAGE:

1. Put an email optin form on the main page next to the video. It should say something like “enter your name and email address and we’ll give you more free music”. You can even make a story out of it.  Show half the video, then cut it with a needle on record sound, and then have Danse saying, “You know what man? You can’t even watch this whole video right now. Why? Put in your name and email address to the right and find out. I’ll tell you what the record execs don’t want you to know.” On the inside, he can mention that the record execs don’t want us out for blah blah reason. Playing along the lines of the “anti-guru” style marketing.  The classic “Us vs. Them” plotline. People love that conflict and gossip angle.
2. Get rid of the MySpace, YouTube links on the main page. Why are you taking people away from the site? You want them to take one of two actions – get them to your blog or get their email address and then take them to the blog.
3. Get rid of the “Freshtillian Agenda” banner on the front page.  (I know you want it up there Busy, but take that shit off)
4. Keep the “Click Here to Enter” button.
5. I would consider changing the video on the home page.  I mean “This is for my Ni@@az” is a DOPE track, but you are not attracting all crowds.  You have to pick a song that ALL demographics would like.  Maybe a hood club joint.

ON THE BLOG:

1. Make the header smaller.  I know y’all wanna show your pretty faces, but it takes up almost the whole damn screen.
2. Enable Permalinks and install SEO plugins. (I can show ya how to do this)
3. Put posts into proper categories – half of them are in “Uncategorized”
4. Use tags for ALL your posts! This is HUGE for SEO.
5. Put an Optin Form in the sidebar and tell them they can download more tracks this way. You can even use the “plotline” for this optin form.
6. Get your tracks off ZShare! WHY??? Host them yourself. Again, never let people LEAVE your site. Again, you can make them put in their email address and then let them download your tracks. AND put it “above the fold”.
7. In the Music section, your songs aren’t linked to the actual song!  This makes it extremely hard for people to download anything.
8. In the Merchandise section, have pictures of just the shirts by themselves. I mean it’s cool to show all your pretty mugs, but seriously, no one wants to see you look all hard with your shirts on.  Especially you Busy – look at your grill man. Take pictures of the shirts against white backgrounds, and have them paypal you money immediately.  This CAN be the biggest part of your business and your website, so make it look professional. I would get more girls and some guys to model the shirts.  But not ALL people just modeling.
9. Use a better picture for the Bio section.
10. Over all, make the text bigger on all these pages.  Use size 14.
11. All your categories and sections on top seem to be going to static pages with no Page Titles, meta tags or anything.  Why not just use what Wordpress gives you.  This is hurting your rankings REAL bad and making it hard to follow on your site.
12. Put links to your YouTube, Twitter, MySpace, and all Web 2.0 stuff on the sidebar.
13. The Sidebar disappears on the other sections of the website.
14. Use the Socialize plugin so that all our readers can share your content.
15. Get Feedburner and use it with Aweber.

Overall, I would think all of the above will help Bklyn Stickup get started on their online journey.  There was an an old website we started www.dabreakfastklub.com – see how the first thing I wanted on the sidebar was their email address?! It makes sense!

The old saying goes “The money is in the list.” Which is absolutely true. So make sure you are collecting email addresses and following up with your fans ALL THE TIME.

I wrote this up pretty quickly, and there are more changes that can be made to this site to make it even better. But this is a GREAT start for you all to get going.

So after our second blockbuster hit “The Magic Bullet System” (sold out)  following our first “The Magic Bullet Seminar” (sold out) we decided this is the route we want to take to build our business and network. (you’ll find out in a sec why..keep reading)

Enough of the bullshit that’s out there!  I have respect for VERY few “guru’s”. You will not see me mail their product for the fun of it or to just make a quick buck.  I honor my word and I respect your opinion of me and us as a company.  If you’ve been on my list for a while you know this already! Sure I’ve mailed some BS before, but never again (i’ve gotten wise in my days).

You see:

YES – there are a LOT of guys who sell shit products and take your money.

YES – there is a LOT of junk out there.

YES – there are a LOT of guru’s who don’t give a rats ass about you or your success.

We’re different.

We’re 2.0.

It’s time for this community to ACCEPT products that ACTUALLY work.

But with every launch and “guru” product there are haters.

So all the haters out there, keep on hating.  I can’t stop you, but just know you don’t bother me. At all.

Hater’s gonna keep on hatin’. Most are just really jealous and/or envious.  All three of those traits – hate, envy, jealousy – are not making that person ANY better and they are not improving their life by any means by putting those feelings out there. Negativity can bring you into a hole that will dig deeper and deeper and deeper until you just hate everything. Trust me, I’ve been there. I hated on everything imaginable at one point in my life. But once I shifted my whole thought process and brain washed myself into positive thinking, my whole life changed.   Make sure to look at the positive side of EVERYTHING.  And when I mean everything – I mean everything.

Anyway, I don’t like the word “guru”.  I’m a visionary. I see the future and how I want it and make it happen. That’s the bottom line.

And to set me aside from the “gurus”, I actually know what I am talking about when it comes to CPA, Affiliate Marketing, PPC, Media Buys, etc.  I mean who else has shown COMPLETE transparency during a launch?  I showed RECENT stats with RECENT campaigns.  Not some campaign I ran three years ago.

It’s about CHANGE. (yeah barak, i stole that from ya.)

Anyway, enough mushy stuff.

Here’s the dirt:

Most affiliate networks build their networks, try to get exclusives, blah blah blah.  THEN they try to get affiliates.  It’s like starting a business without customers.  Then you need REAL good affiliate managers to go and get big time affiliates that are pretty damn loyal to their “choice networks”.  By “choice networks” I mean, the top 5 these big affiliates run with and love. That’s a tough task to accomplish without a large scale popular network.

A lot of networks get newbies and usually ignore them.  I mean yeah sure 20% of affiliates inside a network bring 80% of revenue.  I remember being a newbie in this game and trying to figure stuff out.  I would get a list of TOP performing offers from my reps and that’s it.  No training, no traffic sources, no nothing.  Just what’s working network wide.

But no one ever thought to teach them HOW to do it.

I see that starting to slowly change as far as giving affiliates what offers to run and where on the internet to run it, and that’s a good thing.

Anway, here I am, 5 years later in this whole affiliate marketing game and thinking back to how I felt. Imagine if I had the RIGHT training and tools back then. That would mean, my learning curve would be 5X shorter and my tasks would be 20X faster. Now if we can get the right training and tools to the right people and even if 20% of those think like I did 3-5 years ago, then we just made the next super affiliates.

So why not START with customers first?  Give them the tools and training they need to be super gangster affiliates.  Ya sure, newbies are hard to deal with and it’s a lot of work, but as long as I know I TRIED to give them an opportunity to make money from the bottom of my heart, that’s what counts. There will always be people who complain they never made money and have never even made a website.  They expect it to just come to them? It does take hard work, dedication, perseverance, and most of all BELIEF.

So many people are so greedy and just want the money for themselves.  Why? What’s the point? It’s in abundance and there is ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE.

We gave away two campaigns that were making us over $1.5k a day.  That’s a LOT of money.  But who cares? Seriously. There are millions of those little pockets of money, just waiting for someone to get ‘em. Have you seen the two pages of ads for “msn messenger”. hahahah!

—BEGIN RANT—

We even gave NeverBlue ALL the people who watched our video and signed up to get the smiley offer. They actually CALLED me and said they are getting a TON of new sign ups but I don’t have any referral link setup and they can’t put any referral affiliates under my account.  I then setup the referral link on the launch blog and then they said they are still getting pounded for smiley offer because of my video and can’t give me credit for any of the referrals!

I find that a bit comical actually. They are still cool though.

Ok so where was I.  Oh ya – our network….

So remember my blog post that was titled “Affiliate Marketing vs Internet Marketing vs Brand Marketing” ?

Well we are on our way to making this a REALITY.

We brought the affiliates to the network via the software and launch. And our software doesn’t just support yMultimedia. It supports any network you want. We’re not forcing any of our customers to use yMultimedia.

So now it’s time to get to work to make these dudes into superstars by giving them EVERYTHING they need to pump out profitable campaigns.

If we get 500 people who put out 10 websites each – that’s 5K websites out there all using our system! And hopefully they will run our campaigns, if not, cool. As long as they are DOING something.

Oh ya – and thanks to ALL my staff for making this thing go off without a hitch.

And Jay Styles of course – the man behind the scenes making the gears turn for this company.

We just might be onto something here, if not, then at least we tried. We shall see.

EDIT – this just in – We got booted from the ClickBooth party at ASW because they think we are “promoting our network hard”. Understandable, even though we aren’t. (do you see us buying up all the media on aff sites? umm…no). Even though we did over $2 million with them last year? Huh? We did that when we were pubs… not a network! Scared we are going to take their pubs maybe? I don’t really care to take anyone’s pubs, I just wanna go to drink and have fun. Look at this whole post I just wrote?!  Can’t invite people to a “private” party and then take it away. LOL…haha! Ahh the way this game works. Gotta love it. I guess, they are still cool though?
