WELL….

If you didn’t know, not just one of my companies but TWO of my companies got acquired recently. One was around July and the other was late September/early October.

The first company that got acquired was a mobile apps company I started last year and the other was my main company DigiSpace Solutions that I have been running for the past 8 years. (and ran the last three years with my business partner and friend Jose Rivera AKA ‘Jay Styles’.)

At first, I didn’t believe that someone would be interested in buying my mobile apps company. I was quite shocked actually because I had only 70 small apps in the app store at the time and they wanted to acquire my system which rapidly created apps. My app company was profitable in it’s FIRST MONTH of operation, which is what caused them to look into my app company in the first place.

But, more importantly they believe SO much in my VISION…

My VISION to build a billion dollar company…

My VISION to create a company that will take Mobile Apps to a whole new height by bringing consumers, developers, and entrepreneur’s together…

And the BIGGER vision is to create a new cellular phone with apps that actually HEAL people (more to come on this in a later blog post…it’s super hush hush right now).

After they acquired my Mobile Apps company, they changed their name to my mobile apps company. It’s called Bitzio (www.bitzio.com) and it’s a publicly traded company (stock ticker symbol is btzo.ob)!

Then, they approached me to acquire my main company DigiSpace Solutions. Now…this was even a BIGGER shocker because I had no idea that a public company would be interested in buying an “affiliate marketing”, “info product”, “marketing”, and “technology” company. Especially because Bitzio was so focused on Mobile Apps. But they wanted to acquire DigiSpace because of the technology we have been building…specifically the Magic Bullet System technology. The idea is to eventually take MBS and incorporate it into the other mobile tools that Bitzio is building.

Jose and I agreed that the offer was right and it made complete sense to do this…and to our surprise they bought DigiSpace too! Bitzio acquired the rights to the Magic Bullet System and everything related to it.

If you thought MBS was gangster before, wait until you see what is in store for it in the future! Pretty crazy stuff.

During this whole process, I was a bit nervous…because I was an entrepreneur. I was all about building new courses, trying new things, and starting new businesses.  I was all about creating new things and building new things. It was always about ME.

But selling to a public company, becoming a part of a public company, and sort of “working” for a public company was SCARY.

I didn’t know what was in store for me and what would happen.

BUT…

I have to say it all worked out pretty well! I am now on what is commonly referred to as the “Board” of the new company, Bitzio, and will be leading the overall product vision for Bitzio. This includes everything related to mobile apps, technology development, and even the new MBS to some extent.

And so what is happening to Jose? Well…Jose and I have decided to part ways as far as business is concerned, but we still remain friends. We all have to eventually move on and grow within ourselves to reach the next level…and that’s where both of us are in our lives! Jose is starting a new, exciting venture and I know he has some really cool things in store for you…so if you haven’t already checked out his website and what he’s about…be sure to do so (www.jaystyles.com).

What’s really cool about this new “role” for me is that I drive the business from a VERY high level. That means, I drive the vision of the company and I get to tell the company exactly how I see the company unfolding, what technology to build, and how we are going to make money. Then it basically gets done! (pretty cool…huh?)

So is this like being an entrepreneur?

Well…sort of…

Since I am pretty high level, I don’t have to manage a ton of employees or make sure things are done on time. I don’t have to worry about accountants, lawyers, project managers, and other things that every company needs. So basically I don’t have to worry about the day to day stuff that eats up time. This is because I now have a TEAM beside me to execute on tasks and make things happen! Pretty exciting stuff.

At the same time, I get to execute on my vision to build an LEGACY. An Empire. A crazy awesome fresh company that has visions larger than the universe.

It’s time to make my DREAMS come true…to build a billion dollar company that will TRANSFORM the world. Seems like a big task, I know…but where would I be if I never thought LARGER THAN LIFE?

This time I’m going BIG…REAL BIG.

The best part about all this is that I still get to work on my “personal” projects and products. So expect to see some AWESOME new material from me in the coming months.

The new content is going to range from how to meditate, to how to build a business, to how to sell your business, to how to get into the Inc500, to finding yourself, to everything in between.

Are you living the life of your dreams? Are you going after your VISION? Are you living your life’s purpose?

Remember – when you feel like your back is against the wall and you have to make a decision in life…YOU ARE RIGHT.

You have to move on and advance…so stop making excuses and make decisions.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it takes to be happy.

You know, wake up and jump outta bed, excited to conquer the day happy…truly psyched about living each and every moment.

What’s the key? Why do some people wake up with the Monday morning blahs while others are ready to champion any challenge that comes their way?

I think famed philosopher/mythologist Joseph Campbell said it best when he said,

“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls.”

Aha! That’s it! THAT’s really what we’re all looking for…our own personal BLISS!

We’ve all seen those people that appear to lead a “charmed” life? Right?

You know the ones…the people who just seem to have everything come easily to them? The greatest opportunities just seem to fall in their lap.

Doors open, money flows abundantly, happiness abounds–they seem to be the luckiest people on earth…

Well, chances are, they are following their BLISS!

As a matter of fact, you can pretty much  bet on it!

You see, the truly amazing thing about doing what you love is that when you “follow your bliss” (as they say) life just really doesn’t seem like work at all!

I know some people tend to think it’s a little “woo-woo” but truth be known, I’m a big believer in the power of positive thinking—and subscribe whole-heartedly to the idea of “following your bliss!”

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed a mind-blowing level of success in my career—and my personal life. Houses over looking the ocean, expensive cars, beautiful wife, fancy watches…you name it.

So how did I do it?

By simply paying attention to the things that make me happy and then focusing my efforts and attention in that direction. It’s kinda like my own personal GPS, if you will!

Yup, it’s that simple…try stuff, see how you feel, if it feels good, follow that feeling!

I think life’s too short to sideline yourself with fears—fear of the unknown, fear of change, fear of success, fear of whatever.

The time is now to examine where your happiness lies and then head ever so persistently in that direction—and that direction alone.

And before you know it, you’ll be following your BLISS!

She started the raw food diet on Jan. 1st this year and has lost 100lbs with no exercise. Just raw foods, super foods and Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs. Her current computer is a sluggish PIII with 512 MB RAM and can’t handle Adobe Premiere. I bet final cut or whatever the mac video editing software is would be great for her. We literally learned almost everything we know about health now through youtube and now its time to share our story and give back.

I think health is extremely important and if we are leading by example, we can change the world with these messages. Obesity is on the rise and is the cause of so many diseases, we need to STOP it and reverse the crap we put into our bodies.

“I was packing today and realized how much stuff I have accumulated over the last 3 years. I realized as humans, we just want more and more. Until we just shove it into closets and forget about it. We think more stuff makes us happier, but it just makes us sadder because we just want MORE. So, I’m taking all this shit that I don’t even use or look at (and there’s TONS of it) and giving it all away on my blog. “

Accumulation literally means “to gather or pile up especially little by little“.

We all tend to accumulate things in our life.

Pens, papers, electronics, clothes, books and just RANDOM things.

The only reason we really keep buying more things is because we think it’s going to make us happier.

And then when we aren’t happy with that thing we got…we go get more stuff to make us happier again.

It’s this cycle we are blind too, unless you actually SEE what you are putting yourself through.

We just want more of something we don’t actually need in life because our emotions and brain tell us we need it. (I’ll explain why in a second…)

While moving from my old house to my new house I realized how much stuff I have accumulated in the last 2 years…

• An XBox 360 that I’ve played maybe 20 times
• Rock Band that I’ve played 15 times
• DJ Hero that I’ve played 2 times
• A wirelss iPad that I keep by my bed that I use like once every month.
• Music equipment that I used to use when I was big into music production
• Papers
• Books
• Pens
• Sunglasses
• Apple 24″ monitor that I realistically don’t need. I just have it to be cool. (I already have two 30″ monitors!)
• Tons more random stuff

I don’t even know why I have so much stuff or why I even kept buying more or bringing it along with me. I literally never use half of the stuff I own. LOL. It’s ridiculous. I just knew that I would just get more to keep my happy…to keep me going.

So what is it about all these things that we accumulate that makes us KEEP going back? Why do we KEEP going back to the things that actually make us worse off?

It’s this non-stop cycle that we do with everything…

…Not just material things…

• Food
• Alcohol
• Smoking
• Negativity
• Blaming things on others
• Not making decisions

…and the list can go on and on…

Because it’s this cycle of up and down and this excitement that drives us to want MORE and MORE.

It’s like that roller coaster ride that everyone loves but they know it’s going to freak them out and/or make them sick.

Or that one relationship that we all have had (or have) with someone who’s literally crazy. But we keep sticking it out because there is “something” that keeps bringing us back.

It’s like we keep getting short bursts of that “high” feeling. That’s what keeps us going. Those short bursts of happiness and endorphins running through our body. That instant hit of happiness…that addiction to keep going back. It the addiction to fear…we are scared we will be sad without it. Subconsciously we all want to be happy, so we keep putting our self through hell to get there.

It’s an addiction. An addiction to things that are so common and things we take for granted. We do it subconsciously and sometimes we do is consciously. It’s like we KNOW that it’s wrong and it’s going to lead nowhere, but we keep doing it. We are addicted to it…looking for that short burst of internal fulfillment.

We all know that there is a TRUE path to that “high” feeling…whether it’s meditation, doing what you love, consistent exercise, being positive, showing gratitude and love, eating right, etc.

We all know there is a way to live righteously and if we follow THAT path, eventually we will be so “high” without actually doing any of the bad things that make us keep going in circles.

But we are all guilty of not following that path (or at least most of of us!)…

And that’s where I think we all need to start. We need to start with just ONE thing that we can change about ourselves to reach that “higher self”. That higher self that we know we all have inside of us, but we just CAN NOT get there because of all this shit life throws our way.

Whether we have to “show off” and be someone we aren’t. Or we have to “look cool” or we just want it to make us feel secure in our surroundings. Accumulation is usually a sign of a bad ego and/or fear. It’s a way for us to make ourselves feel better with ourselves and our surroundings.

Think about it…we just have to change ONE thing. Just get rid of ONE thing to feel less attachment and addiction to it.

Since moving out of my old house, I found a lot of crap that I just want to get rid of. There are some things that I literally haven’t used in months if not years that I just keep taking with me everywhere I move. Why?

Because I felt attached to it somehow and I think it was going to bring me happiness somehow. I was trying to hold on to that feeling of happiness I felt when I first got it. I was literally attached to stupidity.

This time when I moved, I decided to just give it all away on my blog. So for the next couple weeks, I’m going to be posting things on my blog that I’m literally just going to give away. Some small things, some big things, some things with no value at all. I’ve already donated a lot to local charities, but this is stuff that I think can directly make a “mass scale impact” on our community and in the world.

(attachment is a whole different subject that I do not want to get into right now, because it’s HUGE and deserves a whole blog post by itself)

Here’s the catch about the items I’m giving away (of course there is one!) – I’m not going to give it away to just anyone.

I want my blog readers (or anyone who visits) to tell me how they are going to change themselves, their life and the WORLD with what I am giving away.

This is all about the Mass Scale Impact, that I mentioned before.

If you want a certain item I am going to be giving away, please wait for the week I post it and leave a comment on the item.

Here’s my first item…

Are you scared about making your next decision?

Do you HATE making decisions?

Have you ever considered hiring a coach for your business?

Have you ever thought about having a mentor for your personal life?

What about someone to help guide you in the decisions you make?

Someone you can TRUST…but not as a friend or a loved one.

Someone you can TRUST…a person who is outside your circle and someone who has no vested interest in your money, your life, your business or your time.

Someone who is just willing to give you there opinion on what you do solely because they are good at looking at things from the OUTSIDE.

If you have never thought about this or felt like you needed it, then you should definitely consider it.

Why?

Because I always thought that coaches and mentoring was a complete crock of shit. Especially because, who better to guide me in my life and business than myself…right?

I mean who can tell me what to do in my business? Who can tell me what actions to take and how to make my life better? Why would I ever put those things into other people’s hands?

I once thought that I could never take anyone’s advice and I had to just “do me” and forget the noise.

Don’t get me wrong, that’s a GREAT thing to do as an entrepreneur. But not if you are an unhappy entrepreneur, or someone who is lost in their business, or has a fuzzy picture of where they want to be headed.

Everybody knows what they FEEL is right and the right decisions to make. Everyone relies on their intuition to guide them in their life. But why do we go against that sometimes? Why do not not listen to our inner voice?

It’s because we get SCARED. And that fear is something we do not want to face so we just take the “easy” route”.

Sometimes we don’t listen to our inner voice and do what we feel because we let our ego’s get in the way of what we REALLY want in life. We always think about me, me, me. Or I need this or I need that or I need to do that for this reason.

And then AFTER we feel this way, we get stuck.

It’s like we “know” what we want but at the same time we “don’t know” what we want.

What do you do if you fear your next decision, or you know, and you don’t know? That’s a lot of stuff your brain, your body, and your emotions have to deal with to figure out.  How are you going to ever figure out what your heart wants, what your brain needs, all at the same time thinking about the future?

You have to reach out to a mentor or a coach. And this is CRUCIAL to you as a human being. Personally, spiritually, and in business.

Why?

Sometimes you get so lost in your own thought that you confuse yourself! You keep thinking about the same thing over and over again that your decision is actually NOT RIGHT. And that’s because you get something like musicians get…which is called”musicians block”. Or writers sometimes complain they have “writer’s block”. This is because they keep listening to the same music or keep writing the same story for so long that their brain literally just stops giving positive input. Because it all starts sounding and feeling the same.

We as humans have this thing inside us that if we think too much about something it actually puts us in a trance where we can’t even make a decision.

So when you reach the point that you are “unsure” or “scared” of your own decisions, that’s when you HAVE to make a decision in your life. Because making decisions is what life is all about. If you don’t make decisions, then there is a very high chance you are making excuses. And if you are making excuses then you are NOT moving forward. And if you are not moving forward and progressing on your path, then you are staying stagnant and nothing will ever be accomplished.

Pretty simple right?

After being wildly successful yet unsatisfied in my business over the last two years, I slowly started to realize the truth of what I wanted to do in my life. (I talk briefly about this in my two posts called Mass Scale Impact and Before You’re Rich.)

I was an internet marketer. I was a “guru”. I was an affiliate marketer. I was a traffic genius. I was a conversion expert. I was a technical geek that loved building software. I was a philosopher. I was a philanthropic person.  I was SO much that I didn’t know what I was.

But three things ALWAYS stuck in the back of my mind…

I knew I wanted to:

1) Make Money
2) Give Back
3) Create Happiness

And I knew that I wanted to become someone different. I wanted to shed my old skin and grow into a higher version of myself. But I was SCARED and I was completely UNSURE if that was the right decision.

But I KNEW what I wanted to do was right. I just needed something to tell me it was right. And that’s when I “let the universe answer my calls”. I meditated on what I wanted to do and how I wanted to change. I simply ASKED for an answer on how I should proceed in my life.

Like I said, I knew what I wanted to do. I had a clear path and mission…but I just didn’t know how to proceed. Something was just holding me back! WEIRD!

And that’s when I met Max Simon.

I’ve also made a whole plan for him on how he should get new traffic and how he should structure his upcoming sales funnels for maximum conversions. So the value-exchange here is tremendous!

And I couldn’t be happier!

There are a couple things to keep in mind when choosing a coach/mentor:

• Strive for mutual benefits. The relationship should be defined from the beginning as mutually beneficial. Each participant has committed to the relationship by choice. Each should openly share his or her goals for the relationship and work collaboratively to help achieve them.
• Agree on confidentiality. Maintaining an environment of confidentiality is a critical component in building trust between the participants. Without a mutually understood ability to speak freely as the situation warrants, the relationship is unlikely to reach its full potential.
• Commit to honesty. The participants should be willing to candidly share what they expect to gain from the relationship and their vision for getting there. They should be prepared to offer frank feedback as appropriate, even if the feedback is critical.
• Listen and learn. Mutual benefit and honesty can only be achieved when both members feel their viewpoints are heard and respected. Mentors, especially, need to remember that the relationship is not primarily about them. Co-mentors should not be intimidated or made to feel their views are not valued.
• Build a working partnership. Consider structuring a working partnership that includes project consultation or active collaborations rooted in the common ground of shared professional goals. These collaborations can lead to discoveries about each participant’s preferred working style, daily obligations, and professional aspirations.
• Lead by example. Actions create the most lasting impression.
• Be flexible. It might help for a mentoring relationship to have defined goals, but the process may be as important—or more so—than the goals.

It’s a fashion show benefiting Just Like My Child Foundation, which she has been continuously supporting with her last trip to Uganda to now. The fashion show will be dedicated to celebrating the beauty inside every woman and the strength of the human spirit in all of us.

100% of the funds raised are going to help build out a medical and dental center that my wife helped setup there last year. They were able to setup a basic facility that helps local kids. There was no dental facility at all before so the demand was huge with lines around the building for days when they were there last year.

She and her friend Lidia will be heading to Uganda in January to personally bring the funds directly to where it’s needed and continue to help add more equipment to the facility like dental chairs, dental supplies, and sterilizing equipment.

This event will be hosted by local fashion designer, Jeana Feely of Jeana Marie Fashions (www.jeanamariefashion.com) and joined by Stacey Blanchet of BlanchetDesigns (www.blanchetdesigns.com).

The coolest part is my wife, Puja, will be walking down the runway too!

This event will also feature the phenomenal photography of local photographers Jennifer Sweigaret (Jennifer Sweigaret Photography) and Erin O’leary (Eolea Photography).

It’s great that so many local artists are coming together to support this cause and organization. Another plus is that 100% of proceeds will go to the cause.

Just Like My Child Foundation is a group which fosters community growth in Uganda by empowering the woman and children to better themselves and their community through education, health care and micro-enterprise, (to learn more about the foundation, please visit www.JustLikeMyChild.org).
