marketing experiment in progress

Two marketing experiments -

1) One related to providing value through not providing value.

2) Twitter experiment exposed.

Okay, so we just officially launched our new website to our internal list.  That website is related to my previous post about Google Goggles.  www.PutOnYourGoggles.com

Google Goggles is basically a product that shows you your Quality Score before Google tells you and “slaps” you and increases your minimum pay per click bids to ridiculously high levels.

We are averaging about a 15% open rate on the email.  I did use an interesting subject line that made people open. Although 15% is not the best.  I suspect it will reach 20% by tonight.  I just sent it out about 10 hours ago.

Of the 15% that opened our email, we have about a 69% click through rate to our actual landing page.  Again, the copy in the email was VERY simple and VERY vague.  Why did I make it vague?  So people get curious as to what it is that we are selling.  We are providing a TON of value on the actual landing page.  But getting them there is the hard part. Right?  It was not like an email promising the world or anything.  Just a tool that will change the way people do business forever.

Yes, it is a tool that will change the way you do pay per click forever.  No more guessing about what to do before you start a new campaign.  No more wondering how your competition is ahead of you in the game.

We are leveling the field here. Truly.

So back to the marketing experiment.

Okay – so out of that 69% that clicked through the email to our website.  We have OVER a 44% opt-in rate on our landing page.  The video just ROCKS and we are providing value to our customers.

Another experiment I am doing is with twitter. I can’t really get into details about this, but I think this is a SUPER NINJA way of getting followers.  It’s still in alpha test mode.  Alpha test mode?  Damn, did I just really say that?

Okay, so anyway, started this experiment about 10 hours ago and already have about 30 followers.  Who knows what will happen after a week.

Stay tuned for more…
